KAEBON

Genre and premise

KAEBON is a Thai folk horror point-and-click game. Players take on the role of a character who has made a vow to earn 15,500 baht over the course of 13 nights in order to fund their mother's surgery. The player must gather clues and complete various rituals before dawn while managing time and resources.

Game mechanics

In the game, you read clues, choose offerings, and make decisions on how to spend your limited budget using the client’s money. You'll need to buy supplies, arrange offerings, and decide how many incense sticks to light for each ritual. Returning to the shop to purchase additional supplies costs time, and each night you must weigh the knowledge you've accumulated against the time remaining before dawn breaks.
