ABOUT THIS GAME
Crafting Your Own Strategies in Forged Cards
Forged Cards redefines the roguelike deckbuilder genre by placing the power of card creation directly in your hands. Unlike traditional games where you collect cards, here, you’re the smith. With a hammer in hand, you’ll gather materials and recipes to forge custom cards, directly influencing your strategies in exciting new ways.
The Art of Forging Cards: Mechanics that Matter
In Forged Cards, each card begins as a mold with open slots ready for customization. You’ll select a Cast to define its action, temper its power with Temper, and decide how long its effects last with Duration. Adding personal touches through Inscriptions lets you manipulate the card’s potential, turning basic attacks into powerful strategies. This emphasis on crafting creates a deeper connection between player and strategy.
Simultaneous Combat: Outsmart, Don’t Outdraw
Engagement in battle takes a fresh approach with simultaneous play. Players can view their enemies’ hands but won't know the order in which they will act. This setup requires careful planning as you select the positioning of your cards. A tactical Block can negate damage, while a Vulnerable card can amplify subsequent strikes, making sequencing paramount for effective combat strategies.
Exploring Dynamic Biomes: Each Run is Unique
The procedural design of Forged Cards shines through its diverse biomes. Players traverse distinct landscapes filled with random maps, ensuring that no two runs feel the same. Engage with an ever-shifting array of 30 Casts across three smithing schools—aggression, protection, and attrition. This variety allows for innovative card combinations, enhancing replayability and player agency.
An Abundance of Options: Items, Events, and Boss Encounters
With over 100 items, numerous mystery events, and challenging boss encounters, players face a wealth of options that bend each run. Boss-forged molds can turn the tide in your favor, allowing for creative strategies to develop. The addition of a draft mode, where players build their starting decks one choice at a time, provides another layer of strategic depth in decision-making.
Stackable Masteries and Endless Challenges
Forged Cards challenges players with 15 stackable Masteries designed to increase difficulty and add complexity over time. Once players fully master the intricacies of card forging and sequencing, they can plunge into the unrestricted Endless mode. This feature allows for limitless runs, where players can perfect their strategies without the constraints of traditional progression.
Shared Experiences: Seeded Runs for Community Engagement
What if you want to share your triumphs or challenges? Forged Cards offers fully seeded runs, meaning players can provide others with a game seed that directly replicates their experience. This unique feature fosters community engagement, allowing players to compare strategies or offer tips and tricks based on identical game scenarios. In a genre where randomness is key, this shared element creates a bond among players striving for mastery.
