Event Horizon Research

Black hole research

Event Horizon Research is a PC game about investigating a black hole from an orbital research station, then flying a capsule toward it. You wake up alone aboard HELIOS, where the crew is gone but the station still works. Its assistant drone, VESSEL, is there as you explore the station and learn what the previous crew left behind.

Preparing the capsule

You measure the black hole’s mass and spin, along with the density of its disk and the strength of its magnetic field. That research informs the descent. You also invent engines and print a capsule hull from materials designed to withstand heat, radiation and gravity. The assembly bay then builds the capsule.
