Eight Formations: Three Kingdoms is a Three Kingdoms card-builder roguelike for PC, using the same rule structure as Slay the Spire. You choose a lord and build a deck of tactics as you make your way through a run. Generals serve as relics, while cards provide attacks, skills and powers.

The four lords have separate card pools and different mechanics. Liu Bei focuses on strength and defence, using block before dismissing damage. Cao Cao uses poison and discard, and draws extra cards at the start of every fight. Sun Ce uses orbs and starts with lightning channelled. Zhuge Liang uses stances and divination, and holds miracles in hand.
