Chip layout puzzles

Circuits: VLSI is a PC chip layout puzzle game about drawing silicon layers to build circuits. Each puzzle gives you a target set of output signals and design rules to meet. You place metal, polysilicon, active silicon, wells, contacts, and, in later puzzles, a second metal layer and vias on a grid. A transistor forms where polysilicon crosses active silicon, with its dimensions determined by the shapes you draw.

From connections to machines

The 100 puzzles are arranged across 10 chapters. They start with a single metal connection and progress through resistance, transistor switching, logic gates, timing, memory, arithmetic, and small clocked machines. Guides, concept explanations, hints, and reference drawings introduce ideas as they appear.
