Bad Writer

A Writer's Journey in Bad Writer

In Bad Writer, players step into the shoes of Emily, a down-on-her-luck aspiring writer navigating the challenges of life simulation and RPG mechanics. Recently unemployed, Emily is determined to chase her dream, supported by her wife, Cleo. With just a month’s savings, she must stick to her writing routine and find ways to keep her spirits high. You’ll help her navigate this precarious world of short story publishing on the PC platform.

Balancing Happiness and Productivity

At the heart of Bad Writer lies a crucial mechanic: the happiness meter. Players must keep Emily content enough to prevent her from giving up on writing. Every action matters. There’s a delicate balance between seeking inspiration and other life distractions that can pull her away from her craft. If her happiness dips too low, she could abandon her dreams, resulting in a much less fulfilling career.
