Amanda the Adventurer - PS4 & PS5

Unearthing Secrets in Amanda the Adventurer

In Amanda the Adventurer for PS4 and PS5, players step into the shoes of Riley Park, who inherits their Aunt Kate's mysterious house. The thrill begins in the attic, where Riley discovers a collection of old VHS tapes. What starts as an innocent exploration quickly turns into a chilling journey as Riley realizes these tapes feature an unsettling children's cartoon. Both curious and unnerved, Riley feels drawn to Amanda and her timid companion, Wooly the Sheep, as they reach out through the screen, begging for attention.

The Enigmatic Tapes

The heart of this horror game lies within those animated tapes. Each episode, ostensibly a nostalgic throwback to the early 2000s, reveals a deeper, more sinister narrative beneath its cheerful surface. Players must piece together clues hidden within the tapes, each reflecting an element of escape room style puzzle-solving. The deceptively simple animation style of the late 90s enhances the sense of nostalgia while simultaneously inducing dread. Is this childhood reminiscence or a descent into darkness?
