ABOUT THIS GAME

Union Pacific GP50 Loco Add-On for Train Simulator

The Train Simulator: Union Pacific GP50 Loco Add-On brings a piece of railroad history to your PC. This high-powered locomotive, built by EMD, comes to life in the iconic Union Pacific livery. Engineered with microprocessor controls, the GP50 is a significant addition to any rail enthusiast's collection, delivering authentic experiences on various routes and scenarios within the game.

Historical Significance of the GP50 Model

First introduced to the rail network in the early 1980s, the GP50 was a game-changer for General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division. With its powerful 16-cylinder diesel engine, a total of 278 units were constructed from 1980 to 1985. Railroads like the Chicago and North Western initially adopted them for high-priority transport, marking a turning point in freight transit capabilities. This add-on not only highlights that legacy but also offers a deep dive into a significant era of rail history.
