History of the BR 10: A Steam Icon

While most of Germany was pivoting towards electric locomotion, the Deutsche Bundesbahn recognized the BR 10's potential. Created to address reliability issues facing contemporary diesel models, the BR 10 aimed to ensure seamless travel on unelectrified routes. Built on the foundation of earlier models, it combined tested components with innovative design techniques. With a focus on power, this steam engine emerged from the factory in 1957, ready to tackle the challenges of its time.
