Dive into the History of the BR 294

Originally classified as the V 90 series, the DB BR 294s were constructed during the 1960s and 1970s as powerful shunting locomotives. Their robust design allowed them to maneuver heavy trains and transport various wagons across extensive railway networks. As part of a fleet overhaul in the 1990s, 290 of these units were modernized and reclassified as BR 294. Even today, many of these machines remain operational, continuing their legacy on local duties and freight operations.
