SimRail - The Railway Simulator: BR 285 is a locomotive DLC for SimRail - The Railway Simulator on PC. It adds the BR 285, a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive from Bombardier’s TRAXX family. The DLC requires the base game.

Diesel-electric power

The BR 285 uses a 16-cylinder, 65-litre diesel engine rated at 2,200 kW, or about 3,000 hp. The engine powers a generator that supplies its electric traction system. Its starting tractive effort is on par with the E186 TRAXX, and it can pull a train weighing up to 3,000 tonnes from a standstill.
