Waxpack

Baseball card seasons

Waxpack is a baseball strategy game for PC where every player is a card with a spinner disc on its back. Each at-bat takes one spin: the disc shows the batter’s chances of a home run, triple, double, single, walk, strikeout, groundout, flyout and other results added by quirks. The pitcher doesn’t spin. Instead, a shadow covers part of the disc, turning results beneath it into outs. Better pitchers have wider shadows, and landing on a boundary triggers both outcomes.

Inning heat

Each inning has a multiplier that starts at x1 and rises by one after every play that isn’t an out. Scoring plays multiply their runs by the current heat; outs don’t lower it. Three outs end the inning. That makes a string of singles valuable: nine in a row, with quirks setting each other off, can send the counter racing past the quota.
