Card-driven battles

Warmasters is a PC fantasy tactics game about commanding armies across hex-based battlefields. In its Basic ruleset, a Battle card drawn each turn decides which part of your army can act. Your plan has to adapt to the order of the deck: a cavalry charge might arrive too early, or the war machine you’ve spent turns moving into range might have to wait.

Basic uses one Combat Value, movement of one hex per turn, and rolls that pit skulls against shields. Advanced replaces card-based turns with units activating one at a time. Each model has its own movement, melee, missile, toughness and nerve values, with dice rolled according to the matchup.
