Game premise and structure

War of the Watchers is a PC game that combines elements of action and exploration within a hand-crafted world. Players awaken on the Thorngate Marches, armed with a blade but no memory of what happened. The game features ten distinct realms, each ruled by a fallen Watcher who has turned their prison into a throne. Players navigate various environments, including the Veilwood, Ashen Catacombs, Blood Marsh, and more, encountering numerous challenges along the way.

Combat and enemies

In the game, players face enemies known as Keepers, each designed with specific combat behaviors and patterns. Players must learn these patterns to defeat the Keepers, who can be bound instead of killed. Defeated enemies remain contained by a seal, which players must maintain while exploring the game’s world. The combat mechanics focus on learning enemy movements, allowing the fights to feel like a conversation rather than a straightforward battle.
