Villein

An open-world prequel

Villein is a PC open-world game set in Western Europe near the end of the 8th century. As a lone protagonist, you resist a cabal of sorcerous lords who are trying to thwart the emperor’s plan to bring education to the masses. The lords’ conspiracy forces their subjects and the surrounding nature into an alternative reality.

The story is a prequel to Annum Crossroads, following events that lead to the lords’ capture of their world.
