Utopia '97

A positivity-themed shooter

Utopia '97 is a static-screen twin-stick shooter for PC, set on a planet where there are no wars, disagreements or dissatisfaction. You play Chin, a magical boy who blows kisses at his happy friends, sending them to a carnival for a day of free rides and candy. The game presents this as an uncomplicated happy world, with no hidden sinister turn in the story.

Kisses and quotas

Each substage has a time limit and a quota of friends to send to the carnival. Meet the quota in time to advance. At the end of each world, Chin encounters a very large friend, which the game explicitly doesn’t call a boss.
