A dungeon on a handheld

Thumb & Tomb is a first-person dungeon crawler for PC, framed as a game running on the translucent GALACTIC BOY handheld console. You move through grid-based stone corridors, fight the monsters wandering there and climb an endless tower. Every tenth floor, a dragon guards the way up. Beat it and you can escape with your life or continue climbing.

Read the attacks

Combat happens in real time. Enemies wind up their blows and hold them at full draw, with the attack’s shape showing how to respond. Parry a quick attack as its closing ring reaches you for a PERFECT; dodge heavy swings in the direction shown by their arrows. You can break a raised shield or shatter it with a fully charged heavy attack. No single blow can take more than half your health. When you die, the game identifies the blow that killed you and the move that would have stopped it.
