The King's Clerk

The king's laws

The King's Clerk is a PC game about serving as a clerk in a kingdom where the laws are short, vague and written without much thought about how they’ll be applied. You spend a year at court deciding what those laws mean as you hear disputes.

Rulings and consequences

For each case, you read a petition and the relevant law, then sign a ruling. The disputes turn on words nobody has defined. Your decisions become law, and in later seasons people quote your rulings back to you and look for gaps in them.
