The Infernal Return

A Journey Through the Underworld in The Infernal Return

The Infernal Return invites players to explore an enigmatic world steeped in ancient Chinese underworld myths. Contrary to expectations, the game's environment harmoniously balances ancient, modern, and fantastical aesthetics. As you navigate this unique take on the afterlife, prepare to unravel the mysteries of Koward, a timid protagonist caught in a grand supernatural scheme.

Koward's Reluctant Adventure in Hell

Koward's story unfolds when he is forcibly brought to the underworld by the ghostly messengers Black and White Impermanence. Tasked with fulfilling demands from Yama, the King of Hell, he must confront his fears and gather allies to escape Fengdu Ghost City. The narrative blends emotional depth with dark humor, as Koward's journey also serves as a quest to understand his own life and love, particularly the feelings he withheld from his girlfriend, Mangostina.
