The Crimson Scales

What The Crimson Scales is

The Crimson Scales is a digital board game that serves as a fan-made expansion for Gloomhaven. It is a standalone game, meaning you do not need to own Gloomhaven to play it. Players take on the role of a band of mercenaries working for a Valrath woman, navigating through an expansive campaign that includes over 50 scenarios. The game focuses on tactical turn-based combat, where you control your party and manage their actions in battles against various enemies.

Combat and character management

The Crimson Scales retains the tactical combat system from Gloomhaven, allowing players to control an entire party of mercenaries. Each character comes with unique abilities and strengths, requiring you to choose cards to play, manage resources, and adapt strategies based on the situation. The game automates enemy behavior with an AI, simplifying combat engagement.
