The Compliant

A workplace visual novel

The Compliant is a PC visual novel about Lin Zhi, a recent graduate who takes a job at tech giant Sabo Group after answering a listing titled “Hiring The Compliant.” You make choices as Lin investigates the company and decides whom to confront or trust. The story centers on buried secrets involving AI, human experimentation and thought control.

At his interview, Lin finds employees who forget their own names, strange ID codes, locked rooms and a work ritual he can’t make sense of. He’s tagged NE287, and the game puts him through a button room, a maze and team contests where his choices are forced on him.
