The Ascendant Sect is a strategy game on PC where players build and manage a party of disciples as they take over a fallen sect. You choose five disciples from a fixed roster of 36, each with their own background and strengths, and set their positions and roles for a campaign that spans six domains. The game emphasizes developing a cohesive team rather than constantly replacing characters.

Combat and strategies

Combat is automatic, which means preparation is critical. You move gear directly between disciples to boost their performance and fill in any gaps in health, shields, and recovery. Each disciple has a personal talent tree, and sect legacies can enhance the entire roster. Positioning and party roles impact the effectiveness of shields, recovery, and damage during battles.
