Surface Tension: Eclipse

Game description and mechanics

Surface Tension: Eclipse is an atmospheric 2D puzzlevania that combines puzzle-solving with survival in a dreamlike world. Players awaken in a contrasting environment filled with glowing lamps and deep shadows. The mechanics revolve around manipulating light sources to alter the environment. You cast shadows that become platforms and paths, requiring you to rethink spatial relationships to progress.

Puzzle design

The game emphasizes handcrafted puzzle rooms that challenge players with geometry, timing, and experimentation. Each room presents a unique challenge, often requiring players to think differently about their surroundings. For instance, a simple gap might transform into a bridge or a barrier could become a path based on how you manipulate the light.
