STAMP DUTY: PAPERWORK ROGUELITE

Claims on probation

STAMP DUTY: PAPERWORK ROGUELITE is a PC roguelite set in the claims intake office of Vantrell Mutual in 1994. You’re a clerk on probation, sorting forms that land on your desk. You get half a second to judge each one by its shape, color and a small mark, then left-click to approve it or right-click to deny it. The space bar is locked at the start.

Each form has a required detail. Medical claims need an upright cross and a live heartbeat line; police reports need an intact gold seal; leave applications need a photo of the employee, who must not be a clown, alien or cat. A forgery always has one detail out of place, but the form doesn’t state the correct verdict. A wrong stamp or a form that expires on your desk earns a strike. Enough strikes end your probation.
