Squadron 404

Top-down space shooter

Squadron 404 is a top-down 2D space shooter for PC, set at a station on the edge of a spreading violet-grey fog. You defend the mothership from waves of attackers made from recycled ship scrap, then spend time in the workshop building a fighter piece by piece. Three station residents have their own views on the threat: a ship AI that lost her homeworld, a commander with a criminal record, and an instructor who keeps a picture face-down in a drawer. They reveal their stories over time.

Mothership defense

The mothership has 200,000 hull points and a rotating shield wall with three gaps. You repair both using scrap while the next wave forms. Enemies grow more numerous, tougher and harder-hitting through wave 100, with a boss every fifth wave. There are 12 enemy types and five named bosses: Warlord, Steel Serpent, Artillery Titan, Plasma Hydra and Shell Fortress. The arena also has a Destroyer Core and a fortress core.
