Spleen

Reliving Childhood in Spleen

In Spleen, a PC 2D action RPG and life simulation hybrid, players traverse the delicate balance between the carefree nature of childhood and the burdens of adulthood. Step into the shoes of Johann, a young man weighed down by life's responsibilities. As his youthful dreams begin to fade, he discovers the power to enter a whimsical realm where he can relive formative memories and confront the ominous force known as the Spleen, which feeds off his dissatisfaction.

The Dual Worlds of Johann

The game elegantly juxtaposes two realms: the pressures of adult life and the playful innocence of being a child. In the adult world, players guide Johann through daily choices, shaping his relationships with friends, family, and colleagues. How Johann interacts with these characters affects not only his emotional well-being but also how he may access the forgotten joys of childhood. Meanwhile, the childlike world serves as a playground where players can engage in intense combat against manifestations of Johann's darker emotions.
