Sogni d'Oro

A story drawn at bedtime

Sogni d'Oro is a turn-based RPG about a climb up a tower, told as a story Grandma Mela shares with her seven-and-a-half-year-old grandson, Tommaso. He can't sleep, so she gives him crayons and a notebook and tells him about being his age and climbing the Tower to find her sleep. You play through Mela's story as Tommaso draws it, page after page.

The game takes cues from classic Japanese RPGs, but its setting draws on Grandma Mela's home: slippers, puppets, diapers, a tavern where people play scopone scientifico, and occasional words of dialect. Exploration and dialogue choices accompany the turn-based battles.
