Game premise and structure

Smithereens is a destructible platform shooter designed for 2-5 players. Players enter an arena where the environment can be altered through shooting and using grenades. The goal is to eliminate opponents while navigating hazards and changing terrain.

Combat and weapons

Combat involves shooting through destructible platforms and using various tools to outmaneuver opponents. Players can kick opponents into hazards like acid or use crates for cover. The game includes a double-jump and wall-jump mechanic, allowing players to reposition themselves quickly during matches. Each match has a Classic loadout, where players earn upgrade choices after dying, adding more strategic depth to the combat experience.
