Silicon Life: From Bedroom to Billion

Building PCs by hand

Silicon Life: From Bedroom to Billion is a PC business simulation set in 1981. You start at age 20 with a workbench in your bedroom, buying parts to assemble computers for customers or repair their broken machines. Work is done with the mouse at a 3D bench: parts snap into place, and troubleshooting means listening to startup beeps, testing suspect components and trying a known-good replacement.

The game tracks six compatibility rules, including CPU and motherboard, memory, case size, graphics slot, power supply and cooling. Save a working build as a model and your company can produce it in series. You can also buy back old PCs and reuse their parts.
