Story and setting

Rus: source is a historical visual novel with RPG elements, set in Ancient Russia. You begin without a name or memory of how you arrived in the past, then become Rurik during the events of 862. Your choices shape his life, but the story continues through Oleg, Igor and Olga.

The historical setting draws on chronicles and archaeological artifacts. Fiction, meta-humor and a separate lore connect the four stories, with more of that lore revealed as you play.
