Rune defense

Rune Force is a PC survival roguelite about defending a Core from waves of monsters and bosses. You place elemental runes on a grid around it, then drag matching runes together to merge them into a single rune of the next tier. There are seven tiers, and quick merges build a streak. The Core’s position and the space around it shape your defenses, while waves keep arriving as you decide whether to merge or hold your ground.

A merge makes a stronger rune but leaves fewer runes on the board. Keeping runes separate can cover more approaches and preserve their elemental bonds. The run is built around balancing those options as enemy pressure rises and space grows more valuable.
