Engine simulation

Revving: Engine Simulator is a PC engine simulator where you start, operate and rev engines in real time. Pistons, rods, crankshafts, cams and valves move according to the simulation, while fuel burns and gas flows through the intake and exhaust. The engine sound is synthesized from its exhaust pulses rather than played from recordings or loops, so it changes with throttle, load, gear and rpm.

Starting and shifting

You switch on the ignition and hold the starter until the engine fires. Then use the clutch, brake and gas with an H-pattern shifter, sequential shifting or automatic transmission. Forgetting the clutch grinds the gears; you can also stall an engine, bog it down, reach the rev limiter or launch it. Keyboard, mouse and gamepad controls are supported, with analogue triggers for gas and brake and the right stick for the shifter.
