Query Noir

Delve Into the Mystery of Query Noir

Query Noir breathes fresh air into the detective genre by taking a data-driven approach to solving crimes. Set in the shadowy streets of Bay City, players assume the role of Sam Halloran, a night-shift technician at the Municipal Data Services. Armed solely with analytical skills, not weapons, your mission is to navigate through the city’s tangled datasets, uncovering truths hidden among the lies to identify the culprit.

Unique Query Mechanic Adds Depth to Investigation

Instead of traditional point-and-click mechanics or action-driven sequences, Query Noir introduces an innovative interrogation system based on database queries. Players construct questions using readable blocks and dropdowns, enabling a natural flow that doesn’t require typing or complex syntax. This design revolutionizes how players interact with the narrative, allowing them to focus solely on the logic of deduction. As players engage with the game's mechanics, they’ll unwittingly learn SQL fundamentals, enhancing their detective skills along the way.
