German courses

Play and Learn: German is a PC language-learning game built around speaking German aloud. Its A1 and A2 courses use two island paths, with 189 lessons and 63 checkpoints. At each chalkboard, you learn 11 sentences, see their meanings in your language, hear them spoken, then say them yourself.

Checkpoint tests mix listening, meaning, spelling, gap-filling and choosing what to say in a situation. The lessons cover everyday tasks, from introducing yourself to renting a flat, returning a purchase and dealing with a missed connecting flight. The course is built around about 850 everyday words.
