PhD Simulator

Setting and premise

PhD Simulator is a text-based strategy and life simulation game that explores the experience of pursuing a doctoral degree at a Chinese university. Players manage their time and energy each month, deciding how to allocate limited resources among various academic tasks. The choices made by the player directly influence research progress, stress levels, and health.

Game mechanics

In the game, you can choose to read academic literature, conduct research, write papers, or take time to recover. Each paper you work on progresses through several stages including idea development, writing, submission, and peer review. Your submissions can be accepted, rejected, or returned for revisions, requiring you to decide when to revise or invest more effort into your projects.
