Phantasm Codex

Shadow-puppet role-playing

Phantasm Codex is a PC role-playing game set in a world of shadow puppets, based on an allusion in the Book of Han. Its story draws on an account of a sorcerer who mastered a spell to bring the dead back to life. In the game, the sorcerer creates a puppet world where invisible hands manipulate everything.

You take on quests in this world, encountering characters and monsters with hidden connections to its manipulator. The setting draws on Chinese history and geography, with places including marketplaces, snow villages and the Netherworld.
