PAYDIRT

Mining shift

PAYDIRT is a PC mining game about working off a debt as a company employee. Ore rolls along a conveyor, and you smash it with a pickaxe. Miss a chunk and it’s gone. You then dump the ore into the company’s settlement machine, which converts each piece into wages; some chunks earn a bonus.

Upgrades and supplies

Spend cash on a better pickaxe and workshop, and tokens on supplies from the company store. Items on your shelf work without your input: a sumo figurine shoves ore aside, while a lightning rod calls down lightning. When the vein runs dry, you go to bed and return for another shift tomorrow.
