Musical duels

Ostinato is a PC game about casters who duel by playing melodies against each other. You draw a hand of notes, see what your rival is about to play, and choose notes to answer it. A note landing on your rival’s note silences theirs, preventing a blow while reducing their health. The duel ends when one of you runs out of health.

Combos and marks

Notes hit harder when played in shapes such as chords, scale runs, or pairs of the same note. Their order affects the strength of the hit. Marks bend the rules, and each run gives you a different set to work with. Stack compatible marks and a hit worth a thousand can grow to fifteen million.
