Ornamento

Hand-cut art puzzles

Ornamento is a casual puzzle game for PC about rebuilding paintings, with works spanning Antiquity to the early 20th century. You move and rotate pieces until each image is complete. Rather than using a regular grid, every puzzle is cut to fit the figures, objects, shapes, and lines of composition in its painting.

The pieces are designed around the artwork, so solving means looking for visual connections as well as matching shapes. You might notice a gesture in the background, a color repeated elsewhere, or how the foreground leads your eye into the distance. Each painting is assembled area by area and fragment by fragment, at your own pace.
