Omega 3

Salmon life cycle

Omega 3 is a PC nature-documentary game about living through the life cycle of an Atlantic salmon. You hatch in a mountain brook as a fish about the size of a grain of rice, then eat, hide and swim through freshwater, the estuary and the sea before returning to your home river to spawn.

Each stage changes what you need to do. As a fry and parr, you hunt small prey among the stones and avoid trout in the pool and a kingfisher overhead. As a smolt, you follow your shoal downstream through the estuary and its nets. At sea, you grow by eating krill, sandeel, herring and sprat while dodging gannets and blue sharks.
