A visual novel set in 1888
No One Owns the Light is a short, linear visual novel for PC about the first execution by electric chair in New York State. You follow Helen, the warden of Auburn Prison, who is ordered to carry out the execution, and Vera, the condemned prisoner who will be put in the chair. As the two face the approaching execution, they come to a new understanding of faith and life.
The story takes place during the War of the Currents between Edison and Westinghouse, amid the state’s adoption of execution by electric current. There are no choices, and the story has a single ending.
