Three nights in the church

Lift My Eyelids is a PC horror game set in Kyiv in 1835. You play Khoma Brut, a philosopher ordered to read the psalter over a dead Cossack’s daughter for three nights, alone in a wooden church. She’s blind but hears you, and a chalk circle you draw keeps her from crossing its line.

Each evening starts in daylight, with the church lit by the sun and candles. After the door is barred from outside and night falls, you must keep reading: the psalm drives the girl back, while silence lets her approach the circle and scratch at it. Her rules matter. When her eyes open, look at the floor; when she speaks into the dark, don’t answer. She can also hear your footsteps and breathing.
