Gambling your way out

JAILPOT is a PC gambling game about an inmate trying to escape a prison where cigarettes are the currency. You start by mopping floors for smokes, then play through nine tables, each run by a boss. Beat every table and you reach the fence. Each one has different rules: scratch cards with Ticket Sid, six dice with Limping Rico, a cap-drop game on Ray the Chippy’s nail board, and laundry slots with Silent Norm. Other tables involve choosing sealed envelopes, guiding rats across a flooded drain, betting on a live TV match, playing twenty-one with Cook Bert, and facing the Warden in a higher-or-lower game.

Daily debts

The bosses take a cut at roll call, and the amount grows each day. You have to pay before roll call or be sent to solitary, which ends the attempt and adds five years to your sentence. Finishing a table earns a piece of the escape plan. The game also tracks luck, omens and winning streaks, with a fortune card after each day you pay your dues.
