High Stakes Chess is a PC strategy game that combines poker with chess. Each round starts with a poker hand made from cards depicting chess pieces. You bet and bluff, and the cards you collect determine which pieces you can take into the coming battle. Strong poker hands earn extra rewards.

Building an army

After the cards are revealed, you place your pieces on the board and shape a position around the army you’ve been dealt. Your army and starting position change each round, so there’s no standard opening to rely on.
