Glimtide

A shared island simulation

Glimtide is a life simulation set on an island shared by players on Steam and in a browser. The island keeps running when you’re away: glims are born, form relationships, build nests, grow old and die. You don’t control them directly. Each glim acts on its own needs, such as finding food, sleeping or looking for a safe place to spend the night, while you watch and sometimes intervene.

The island has beaches, plains, jungle, desert, tundra and mountains, with rivers and lakes between them. Biomes have their own plants and climate, and day and night, tides and four seasons affect life there. Spring brings more fruit; winter is lean. Herbivores graze, fish and sharks live in the sea, and rare red-toothed prowlers hunt. If the last glim dies, a new island rises from the sea and life starts again.
