ABOUT THIS GAME
Tactical Deckbuilding in Friend and Foe
Friend and Foe is a hex-based deckbuilding roguelike that invites players to strategically navigate a battlefield brimming with both allies and adversaries. Set on a tactical 9×5 hex grid, players build and customize their decks while outfitting their personal ships. Engage in thrilling tactical combat where cards come to life, offering multiple ranges, abilities, and strategic costs.
Engaging Combat Mechanics
Combat in Friend and Foe is driven by a unified Action Point system. No longer do players face the frustration of dead draws or cards left unused at the end of a turn. Each card can be drawn and played using Action Points, ensuring every move counts. Choose between cooperative team cards that aid comrades or sabotage cards designed for betrayal, fostering a dynamic and chaotic atmosphere throughout the match.
Modes for Everyone
Multiplayer support enables up to 8 players to join the fray in various modes. Team up with friends for cooperative exploration or pit your wits against them in a free-for-all showdown. To tailor the experience, players can disable sabotage or team card mechanics, fostering different playstyles and tactical depths. Alternately, fill lobbies with bots to refine strategies and test various deck builds against simulated opponents.
Explorative Gameplay and Fog of War
The gameplay doesn’t end with battle; exploration is just as crucial. The fog of war mechanic reveals the map gradually as you navigate, battling the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Each tile spent is a choice that could lead to hidden rewards or dangers, requiring players to make snap decisions. A fuel system adds another layer of strategy: push deeper into uncharted territory or rush towards the boss for quicker rewards.
Diverse Character Classes
Friend and Foe features four distinct character classes, each equipped with unique passives, starter implants, and tailored card pools. This variety adds significant replay value, allowing players to experiment with different tactics and approaches. The characters cater to diverse playstyles, whether players prefer a defensive stance or aggressive offensive tactics.
Smart Auto-Play for Exploration
When you're more inclined to focus on deckbuilding and exploration, Friend and Foe includes a smart AI auto-play mode. This lets you step back from combat when needed while still progressing in the game. By allowing the AI to handle battles, players can fine-tune strategies, test new decks, and explore the game world without feeling overwhelmed by constant combat.
Endless Replayability Awaits
With its engaging mechanics and variety of game modes, Friend and Foe leaves players with countless avenues for exploration and strategy. The combination of tactical hex combat, dynamic multiplayer options, and the fog of war system creates an environment where no two games feel the same. Each match is a fresh challenge, allowing players to constantly adapt their strategies, explore new territories, and confront an array of foes and friends alike.
