Game premise and objective

FOVEA is an experimental 2D top-down exploration game that places players in the role of a small light trapped within an experimental setting. The objective is to navigate through areas that are unlit, questioning everything outside your light source. Players interact with an entity known as The Eye, which watches over them, providing guidance while also requiring players to manage its trust by understanding its behaviors and signals.

Exploration mechanics

The game does not include a map or HUD, pushing you to engage solely with the environment through exploration. The absence of guiding markers means you must rely on your surroundings and observations to navigate the challenges ahead. The reality is defined only by what is illuminated, creating a sense of unpredictability as players venture into the darkness.
