Five Families

Mafia strategy

Five Families is a turn-based strategy game set in the American Mafia, spanning forty years and eighty turns. You take over as Boss of one of New York’s five families: the Genovese, Gambino, Lucchese, Colombo or Bonanno. Your predecessor is dead, and you decide who gets promoted, how the family makes money and how it deals with rivals, its own members and the FBI.

Rackets and territory

New York is divided into 56 neighborhoods, where you can open extortion rings, loan-sharking operations and numbers rackets. Restaurants and construction companies serve as fronts for cleaning money. You can also launch larger schemes, including bust-outs, insurance fraud and airport heists. Each racket has a setting for how quietly or aggressively it operates: higher returns bring more federal attention.
