未春节 Festival of Unborn Spring

Story and setting

未春节 Festival of Unborn Spring is a PC visual novel about Wang Xinyu, a first-year high school student who’s nostalgic, drawn to occult ideas and East Asian literature, and unsure about her future. During winter break, she hopes to get closer to Yu Guo, a second-year student she has a crush on. Instead, she’s drawn into a mythological adventure led by Duan Tingqiu, and memories of her junior-high years return.

The story moves through locations in Kunming. Along the way, Wang and her companions talk about literature, history, and philosophy. The adventure takes inspiration from Bai mythology, though its folklore and legends have been artistically adapted.
