Falterlight

Descent into the caverns

Falterlight is a single-player 2D horror roguelite platformer set in procedurally generated caverns. You descend through thirty floors with a torch that burns down, looking for weapons, hidden rooms, and a source of light before your flame goes out. Each detour costs time, so reaching a light source means weighing what you can find against how much fuel remains.

Light and risk

The torch sets the pace of each run. You need to read the terrain and manage its remaining fuel as you move through the caverns. Staying in the light is safer, while venturing into darkness raises your risk and your potential haul.
